MUMBAI: New death threats were reportedly made on October 5, to billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family members, and to blow up the Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital in south Mumbai.

An official spokeswoman reported that the H N Reliance Foundation Hospital's call centre got calls at 12.57 and 5.04 p.m. threatening to blow up the hospital facility.

The caller also reportedly expressed concern about Ambani, his wife Nita, and their kids Akash and Anand. An official police report has been made by the hospital, and an investigation has been started.

The latest development came barely five days after  Ambani's protection was raised by the Central Government from Z to Z+ by the CRPF, while his wife had already been given a Y Plus cover.

The Ambani family and the hospital have been similarly targeted twice in 50 days, both times with tragic results.
The hospital received 8 threats on August 15 and reported them to the Mumbai Police, who later detained the caller, apparently of unsound mind.

In the meantime, in light of the most recent threats, security has been further increased for the hospital and the family.
