Genome sequencing lab to be set up at Indore college, new corona variant will be detected

Indore: The havoc of corona infection is still continuing and new variants are being revealed day by day. Now, under the recent information, the new corona variant will now be detected in Indore itself. Yes, a genome sequencing lab will be set up at MGM Medical College soon. At the same time, machines and equipment will be installed here. Commissioner Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma also reportedly issued orders regarding the purchase of machines and tendering process last Wednesday. The Commissioner reviewed the possible third wave preparedness of corona at a division level meeting last Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting was attended by Dean, MGM Medical College, Dr. Sanjay Dixit, Heads of Departments of various departments associated with medical colleges, CMHO, and medical experts from all districts, etc. The meeting has revealed that the new variant of the corona is currently being studied at various levels. Yes, and the Commissioner has asked for a detailed report in the next meeting so that necessary preparations can be made to deal with it in time. At the same time, it has been informed in the meeting that a lab for genome sequencing is to be set up at MGM Medical College. It requires new machines and equipment.

Dr. Sharma also said, "The procurement and tendering process of machines and equipment should be started soon. With the lab being built, the new variant of corona will now be detected in Indore itself. Such labs in the private sector are also set to be launched in Indore soon.'' In addition, Dr. Sharma has directed all CMHO to trend doctors and paramedical staff for corona-related treatment of pregnant mothers, newborns, children, etc. Training programs have been started in most of the districts for this purpose.
