New corona variant reported in NYC has 6.7 per cent case delta variant: Report

According to the New York City Health Ministry, 6 percent of New York's total corona positive cases are delta variant cases. The variant was first detected in India. New York City's Health Ministry said in a recent report that 6.7 percent of the 105 covid cases found in New York amid investigations around June 5 were delta variants.

New York currently has the most broadcast variants B.1.1.7 (Alpha) and B.1.526 (Lota). We are also monitoring P.1 (Gamma) and B.1.617.2 (Delta), which is spreading rapidly in US and other countries, the New York Health Ministry said. Of the 105 covid cases, alpha variants have 36.2 percent (38 cases). While Lota variants have 4.8 percent (5) and Gamma has 17.1 percent (18) cases. Delta Variant had 7 cases out of 105 cases. An update released by the Health Ministry said that 5.6 per cent of delta variants have been observed in covid cases in the last 4 weeks.

The positivity rate is 8.22 per cent and the rate of hospitalization per one lakh people is 0.42 per cent. Today is 186 cases of covid based on an average of 7 days. WHO says delta variants are now growing worldwide. Whose spread has increased very fast. According to Weekly Epidemiological, delta variant cases have now been reported in 80 countries around the world. B.1.617.2 Delta Variant was first found in India in the month of October 2020.
