BANGALORE: Health and Family Welfare Minister of Karnataka  Dr K. Sudhakar said on Tuesday that any city in the world would have faced a similar crisis as Bangalore did if it received the same amount of heavy rain as it received here.

He said that it was true that Bangalore city was disrupted by severe rain, citing the collapse of infrastructure and many residential areas swamped that impacted the regular life in many parts of Bangalore, notably in places regarded to be IT centres. He claimed that the amount of rain was unprecedented in the history of the city.

He also questioned former Infosys director Mohandas Pai, who complained in a letter to chief minister Basavaraj Bommai about infrastructure that was deteriorating as a result of the rain. What would have occurred if New York City had had the same amount of extreme rain as we did? said Sudhakar. The act of complaining is fairly simple. It will take a long time to solve the issue. Whose fault is it that hundreds of villages were merged into greater Bangalore while no development was undertaken? Sudhakar asked a query.

"Citizens must work with the government during this crisis to address the issue. He emphasised, "This is not the time for finger-pointing.

Working day and night were Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, ministers from Bengaluru, elected officials, officers, and members of numerous organisations. Bangalore City was created by Nadaprabhu Kempa Gowda, the king of Bangalore, and has grown to become a major metropolis.

Lakes constructed at those times are no longer there. Storm water drains have been obstructed by residential and business building. Houses have been built in low-lying locations and designs. This circumstance was a gift from previous administrations to our government. But we'll approach this as a challenge and manage the circumstance.

"This is a gift from changes in the climate around the world... The minister stressed that everyone must work together to create a clean, environmentally friendly city while simultaneously expressing concern about the potential dangers of nature.
