WELLINGTON: For the T20 Tri-Series in Christchurch, New Zealand on Thursday brought in pacer Blair Tickner into the squad, also involving Pakistan and Bangladesh, as a cover for spinner Mitchell Santner, who is on parental leave.
Santner's first child was born last week, therefore he won't go to the camp until the weekend after that.
Pakistan will play Bangladesh in the opening T20 Tri-series match on Friday in Christchurch.

The team needed a cover for Santner because the Black Caps were playing Pakistan on Saturday night, so Tickner joined the team.

Prior to their debut encounter against Pakistan on Thursday, the New Zealand team conducted their vital practise.
Selector Gavin Larsen stated on Monday that rotation would be used and that different lineups would be tried over the course of the next four or five games, depending on results. New Zealand is preparing for the T20 World Cup and is anticipated to use the 15 players in the Black Caps squad for the tournament.

Larsen was quoted by the local media as saying, "Certainly the idea is to rotate the group across the playing possibilities via that tri-series and to basically fine-tune what has been our existing game plan over the recent time.
They are crucial practise games for us, so there isn't anything significantly different that we will be focusing on.
