New Zealand coach Mike Hesson resigned, less than 12 months before the ICC World Cup.

Mike Hesson shocked New Zealand cricket on Thursday by announcing his step down as coach a in next month, less than a year out from the ICC World Cup 2019.

Mike Hesson  who is 43-year-old was appointed in 2012. He is to leave the job of coach on July 31. He issued a statement and said that he wanted to spend more time with his family. He added that he felt he could not commit to the job for another 12 months.

He further said that this job requires 100 percent commitment and he doesn’t have the capacity to give the job what it deserves.

Worth mention here Mike has brought one of NZC’s most successful periods of international cricket. He’s more than realized the potential and cricket world saw in him back in 2012 and has grown into one of the most valued coaches on the international circuit.

Authorities to NZC’s tried to persuade him to stay on for another 12 months but his mind was made up to leave the role of coach.

On a related note New Zealand’s next cricket series is against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates in October and November, and NZC has started the recruitment process for the new coach .
