New Zealand team arrives in England for World Test Championship final

New Delhi: New Zealand have arrived in London to play a two-match Test series with England, then the World Test Championship (WTC) final with India. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has said that the rest of the team will arrive in England on Monday. A statement issued by New Zealand cricket said Tim Southee, BJ Watling, Ross Taylor Neil Vegra will leave Auckland on Monday afternoon (New Zealand time) to join the team in Southampton.

Captain Kane Williamson, Kyle Jamison, Mitchell Santner, team physio Tommy Simsek trainer Chris Donaldson will arrive on Monday (UK time). The rest of the Ken Williamson team had moved to the Maldives after the suspension of the Staff Indian Premier League (IPL 2021), where he was living in Quarantine. They have arrived in England directly from the Maldives.

Batsman Will Yong will also join the team on Monday, then remain in isolation after that. The board said Trent Boult will visit Mount Maunganui to see his family after the isolation ends on Sunday. While in England they will work in a controlled team environment to limit the risk of external contact transmission. All members will have a daily covid test.
