New Zealand XI all out on 235 in first inning in practice match against India

Auckland: Team India bundled out New Zealand XI's first innings for 235 on the second day of the three-day practice match at Hamilton and achieved a 28-run lead. The Indian team was piled on for 263 runs in their first innings. Indian fast bowlers practiced well before the two-Test series starting on February 21, although the match is not rated first-class.

India have scored 59 runs in their second innings without losing any wickets. Mayank Agarwal 23 and Prithvi Shaw 35 were at the crease by the time of stumps. Earlier, the Indian team made the New Zealand XI batsmen realize their speed and took wickets at frequent intervals. Mo. Shami took three wickets for 17 runs, while Jaspreet Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini got 2–2 wickets each. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin got a breakthrough.

Earlier, Team India's first innings after winning the toss at Hamilton and batting first, was reduced to 263 on the very first day. India lost their first wicket at zero, when opener Prithvi Shaw returned without opening the account. After this Mayank Agarwal (1) was also made to walk.
