NGT will give compensation of Rs 15 lakh to the injured in the Palghar factory blast

Palghar: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has recently given a major direction. In fact, the NGT directed the Maharashtra government to pay a compensation of Rs. 15 lakh. NGT has also issued instructions to the Director of Industrial Safety to study the accidental, professional, and environmental risks associated with such activities in three months in association with the State Pollution Control Board and the Central Pollution Control Board.

A bench of NGT President Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel has recently said, "This compensation should be paid by the Maharashtra government through the District Collector of Palghar within a month.'' The bench also said, "We request the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority to extend legal cooperation to ensure that payments are made to the right persons without any hindrance. The State will be exempted from recovery from the occupant/owner of the premises.''

On 17th June, at 10.35 a.m., a firecracker factory exploded in Dehaene village of Palghar district. 10 laborers were injured in the blast. The massive fire that followed the blast caused extensive damage to houses in the area of about 10 to 12 km.
