Tokyo: Two aircraft appeared to have collided on the ground close to a taxiway on Saturday, according to public broadcaster NHK and the Japanese transport ministry, causing some flights to be delayed at Tokyo's Haneda airport.

Despite the fact that no one was hurt, the incident forced one of the airport's four runways to be closed starting around 11 a.m. (0200 GMT), according to NHK and one of the airlines.

The broadcaster featured footage of jets from Thai Airways (THAI.BK) and Taiwan's Eva Airways (2618.TW) on the ground. The Thai Airways plane's wing appeared to be broken in some places, and pieces could be seen close to the runway.
