NIA foils major terror attack plot, bomb-rockets recovered in raids

Bangalore: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has a great deal of success in Bangalore. The NIA has foiled a large terrorist attack attempt conducted in Bangalore. A huge quantity of explosives has also been recovered from Bengaluru by the investigating agency. It is also said that there was a conspiracy to carry out large-scale terrorist acts in India and Bangladesh.

The NIA said in a reference on Tuesday that it had recovered five grenades, a timer device, three power circuits, suspected explosives, IED, rocket-making material and some other items from Bengaluru. The raids came after revelations by Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh terrorist Habibur Rahman. More importantly, the terrorist was also involved in a 2014 blast in Burdwan in West Bengal.

Following the revelations by Habibur Rahman, raids began in Soldevanhalli area of northern Bengaluru and the NIA said in a statement that the hand grenades seized in Bengaluru were manufactured for use in terrorist activities in the state. Earlier, the NIA court had remanded Rahman, who was arrested in Bengaluru on June 25, to police custody. The police and the NIA team are currently investigating the case.
