The world's largest manufacturer of sports goods - Nike, has announced Champions League winner and top English Premier League scorer Liverpool FC as their official kit partner. As reported by ESPN, Nike will be Liverpool's official kit partner from next season. ESPN has been quoted by sources as saying that the deal between Liverpool and Nike will come into effect from June 1 this year.

New Balance is currently Liverpool's official kit partner and their contract expires in May this year. The English club had a five-year deal with New Balance. If sources are to be believed, Liverpool had also approached Adidas and Puma for their official kit partner, but ultimately decided to go with Nike. Nike currently has agreements with clubs such as FC Barcelona, Paris St Germain, Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea, while Adidas has an official kit partner with Real Madrid, Manchester United and Bayern Munich club.
