World champion Nikhat Zareen (52kg) of India on Tuesday promised that she will now become an Olympic champion and give a speech. Nikhat said at the award ceremony organized by the Boxing Association of India at the Indira Gandhi Stadium here that I am working hard. I assure that I will become Olympic champion and give speech here in front of all of you. India has also won one gold and two bronze medals at the World Women's Championship held in Istanbul, Turkey. Manisha (57kg) and Parveen (63kg) also won bronze medals in the competition. These medal winners and other team members and support staff members were also present at the felicitation ceremony.
Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and Indian Boxing Committee President Ajay Singh were also present at the function. Thakur has also honored the winning players.
