New Delhi: A few years ago, on 16 December 2012 in the nation's capital, humanity has shamed humanity. For Nirbhaya, movements took place and even the law was changed. But today, even after a full 7 years, the sentence pronounced to those convicts of Nirbhaya has not been executed. These poor people are not able to get their appropriate punishment and feel that getting justice to the fearless people of the country is an impossible task even today.

Accused and court: For information, let us tell you that after the raid that took place on the night of 16 December 2012, the police caught all six accused. Ram Singh committed suicide by hanging himself in police custody on 11 March 2013 in Tihar Jail. One of the accused was described as a minor, who was judged in the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to a juvenile home for three years.

His identity was never revealed. The remaining four accused Mukesh Singh, Pawan Gupta, Akshay Thakur and Vinay Sharma were hanged on 10 September 2013. His appeal was rejected by the High Court on 13 March 2014 and again by the Supreme Court on 5 May 2017. Currently all four are in jail.

If sources are to be believed, after this incident a storm of anger arose in the country, which had the effect in every corner. Stringent laws were sought to be enacted for women's safety, and Justice Verma committee was formed. The 2013 legal amendments were implemented. At the same time, the Juvenile Justice Act was changed in 2015, the age limit for the accused to be considered criminal in cases like murder-rape was reduced from 18 to 16.

Confused hanging in the legal process : After the Hyderabad rape and murder, people got angry, then the process of hanging Nirbhaya's poor was moved forward. The file of mercy petition of a rapist lying in the CM office of Delhi reached the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Ministry rejected the apology and sent it to the President.

But the legal betting is such that the wrongdoer refused to have his plea. Meanwhile Tantra woke up, executioner was sought from UP. Now on Wednesday, 17 December, the petition of Akshay, the fourth rapist, will be heard in the Supreme Court. The next day the trial court will hear the application for the death warrant.
