WASHINGTON: India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has met Indonesian Finance Minister Mulyani Indrawati and they agreed to collaborate on areas important for developing economies. G-20 Finance Ministers discuss debt distress, Ukraine and other challenges in Washington, an official said.
Indonesian Finance Minister Indrawati extended her support to India's presidency of the G-20 and "agreed to collaborate on areas important for emerging market developing economies", the Ministry official said following the two leaders meeting on April 14.
Both the leaders are expected to attend the annual spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
Earlier on February 23 India Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had met her Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati , ahead of the first G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting, in Bangalore.
Both the ministers at that time exchanged views on topics of global relevance such as debt sustainability, health, climate finance, food and energy security, and the need for greater Global South cooperation.
India is currently part of the G20 Troika comprising Indonesia, India and Brazil, marking the first time that the Troika is consisting of 3 developing and emerging economies.
