Popular businessman Mukesh Ambani's family was not new to receiving threats. There were threats in the past. But when Nita Ambani received the news of the explosive being found outside Mukesh Ambani's house, she came to the fore. She had immediately canceled her scheduled visit to Gujarat. The news was given to the NIA by the security chief at the Mukesh Ambani family's Antilia residence in Mumbai.

The security chief of Mukesh Ambani's residence said Nita Ambani immediately told her husband Mukesh Ambani when she came to know about the explosive vehicle and threatening letter being found outside Antilia. She was scheduled to attend an event in Jamnagar in Gujarat that day. Then that event was first rescheduled. But later, at the suggestion of the Deputy Commissioner of Police of the area, Nita Ambani had postponed the visit.

The same security chief's statement was filed by the NIA after an SUV car with gelatin sticks was found near Ambani's house on February 25. The statement of the security chief of Ambani's residence is recorded in the charge sheet filed by the NIA against sacked police officer Sachin Vaze and 9 others in connection with the murder of businessman Mansukh Hiren. NIA has filed the charge sheet in the Special Court on September 3.
