Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the seventh meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog here today. In fact, according to reports, Nitish Kumar and Chandrasekhar Rao have distanced themselves from the NITI Aayog meeting. Let us tell you that this will be the first meeting of the Governing Council since July 2019 and such a meeting could not be held due to Covid in between. In fact, NITI Aayog said in a statement issued on Saturday, "This meeting will pave the way for synergy between the central government and the states and union territories towards a new era of partnership and cooperation."

At the same time, the agenda of the meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, inter-alia, includes issues relating to the diversification of crops and achieving self-reliance in the matter of oilseeds, pulses and agro-communities, national education policy- implementation of school education, national education policy- implementation of higher education and urban administration. You should also be aware that this will be the first meeting of the Governing Council since July 2019. In the midst of all this, such a meeting could not take place due to Covid and the meeting will also highlight the importance of India's presidency in terms of the federal system and the role of states in highlighting their progress on the G-20 platform.

As part of the preparations for this meeting, a National Conference of Chief Secretaries of various States was held in Dharamsala in June 2022, which was the culmination of a six-month-long rigorous exercise by the Centre and the States. The Conference was chaired by the Prime Minister and was attended by the Chief Secretaries of all the States and Union Territories as well as senior officials of the Central and State Governments.
