New Delhi: NITI Aayog member VK Saraswat has said that India has well managed the second wave of the global epidemic Corona virus, which has significantly led to a sharp decline in the number of new cases in the country. He said preparations have to be made to deal with the third wave, which could affect the young population more.

Saraswat further said that India's epidemiologists have given very clear indications that the third wave of COVID-19 is inevitable and is expected to arrive in September-October, so more and more people in the country should be vaccinated. He said, 'I think we have done a very good job. We have managed the second wave of COVID-19 epidemic very well, which has resulted in a significant reduction in the number of COVID-19.'

We are able to build oxygen banks with the help of our science and technology activities, manage oxygen supply to a large number of industries, he added. He said that we can use railways, airports, army for transportation for liquid oxygen. With more than 4 lakh daily cases coming up every day, the number of new COVID-19 cases has gone up to about 1.3 lakh in the last few days.
