NEW DELHI: Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has urged industrial houses to work for the overall development of the country as well as the progress of the industrial sector as well as development of agriculture sector and backward areas.

According to sources, Gadkari while addressing the National Council of Confederation of Indian Industry here on Friday said that industrial development is essential for the country's progress but our large population is dependent on agriculture, so how can agriculture bring growth. At the same time, development of backward areas is also the responsibility of all and, therefore, it has to be taken care of. He said, the government's effort is to create jobs for as many people as we can by using new technology and training centres are being set up. If the industrial houses come forward, the Government will help. The Government is opening up technical training through which skill development of the people is being done by strengthening the traditional technology.
