On Thursday, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the government has no intention of banning petrol and diesel vehicles. At the annual conference of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers 2019, Nitin Gadkari said that the meeting took place and the ministry received suggestions that petrol-diesel vehicles should be banned. I would like to clarify that the government does not intend to ban petrol and diesel vehicles.

In his statement, the Union Minister also said that the Indian automobile industry had exported more and the industry is providing tremendous employment opportunities. He said that vehicles cause pollution to some extent, but only vehicles should not be blamed for the problem of pollution. He further said that pollution in Delhi affected the health of all and the world is also serious for this. A plan of 50 thousand crore rupees has been prepared to identify the causes of pollution in Delhi. Due to this, about 29 percent pollution in Delhi has been controlled.

Apart from this, the BJP leader said that the government has reduced GST on electric vehicles. I am trying to convince the finance ministry to reduce GST on hybrid cars. Saying that the automobile sector needs more attention to quality, he said that India can become the number one manufacturing hub. Automobile companies should focus on quality and not on cost. The Union Minister said that the condition of the State Transport Corporation is not good. The government is making all efforts to bring the London transport model. Emphasizing public transport, Gadkari said that public transport has potential. If we implement the London transport model, 12 to 1.5 million new buses will be operational. He said that it is very important to have new technologies to expand the business.
