New Delhi: The journey of people living in north India, especially those living in Delhi-NCR, is going to be much easier and faster in the near future. According to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, in less than a year, areas from Delhi to the vicinity will be connected to the high-speed highway, which will enable people to travel from one place to another in a very short time.

According to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Delhi to Jaipur will be able to reach Jaipur in just one and a half hours in the next six months. Within a year, Delhi to Chandigarh will be able to reach Chandigarh in just 2 hours. At the same time, the Union Minister said that within a year, the development of the highway will enable Delhi to reach Dehradun in 2 hours, Delhi to Haridwar in just 2 hours. This will also save a lot of time for passengers passing through Delhi.

Gadkari further said that at present there is no toll collection technology through GPS in the country. But the Government is constantly working towards developing such technology. He had said in March this year that the government would soon abolish the system of toll booths. It will be replaced by a fully GPS toll collection system in a year. According to the government, this move will also save people's time as they will not have to stop paying a toll.
