In Modi government 2.0, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has tweeted that contractors who build bad roads will also be fined. The tweet said that under the new Motor Vehicle Act 2019, the amount of penalty has not been increased only for the common people, but also the penalty amount has been increased on the construction of poor roads by the road contractors.
Gadkari has written that now the government will keep an eye on the contractors who make the road. If the road contractors use bad roads, poor design, poor materials during the construction of roads, then strict action will be taken against them. If negligence is observed in the maintenance of roads, then the fine can be up to one lakh rupees on the contractors.
