Patna: Poll strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor on Wednesday said he will withdraw his Jan Suraaj Abhiyan and extend support to the Nitish Kumar government if the new government in Bihar gives jobs to 5-10 lakh youths in a year or two. Addressing his supporters in Samastipur on Wednesday, Nitish Kumar's former confidant Prashant Kishor claimed that the Rashtriya Janata Dal-Janata Dal United-Congress government has not got the support of the people.

Prashant Kishor said that Nitish Kumar continues to hold the post of CM, while other political parties, be it BJP or Rashtriya Janata Dal-Congress, are revolving around him. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav had recently said that his party will fulfil the promise of providing 10 lakh jobs made in the run-up to the 2020 assembly elections as part of the new government.

During his Independence Day speech at Patna's Gandhi Maidan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also said that our target is to provide employment to 20 lakh persons in the government and private sectors of the state. People from the new generation (Tejashwi Yadav) are with us. So we will work jointly to provide employment. Our aim is to bring Bihar into the category of developed states. Responding to the promises made by the Grand Alliance government, Prashant Kishor said that I will withdraw my 'Jan Suraaj Abhiyan' and will support the Nitish Kumar government. If 5 to 10 lakh jobs are provided in the next one to two years. Kishor also predicted a major upheaval in the state's politics before the next assembly elections. Prashant Kishor, who was the National Vice President of Janata Dal-United, had earlier this year announced that he would launch 'Jan Suraaj Abhiyan' to find out the problems of the people of Bihar and possible solutions to establish regional connectivity.
