Patna: The Bihar government plans to take action against persons who are occupying government land. Those who occupy government land will be sentenced to prison in the same episode. They will also face a punishment of up to 20,000 rupees. As a result, the Nitish administration has empowered the commissioner to take action on behalf of the collector. Following that, these cops will be allowed to respond immediately to people who are occupying government property.

The Nitish government has also decided to step up its efforts to rid government land of encroachment. Furthermore, all water bodies in the state must be de-encroached upon. The Department of Revenue and Land Reforms had previously issued the order, but due to negligence in the job, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Department, Vivek Singh, has issued a new directive to all divisional commissioners and collectors. The new letter also provides strict instructions to make jail and penalty arrangements effective.

It should be noted that the Revenue Department currently lacks complete information on government land. That is why all agencies have been asked to provide a land record. According to information obtained by the Directorate of Surveys, government agencies have recorded 90688 plots so far. The Department of Revenue and Land Reforms has the most plots (44532) out of all of them. Following that comes the Minority Welfare Department's figure, which has so far recorded a total of 12866 plots.
