Patna: The education department is in action over the revelations of Prof. Mohammad Kuddus, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Majhrul Haque Arabic-Persian University. In a letter to CM Nitish Kumar, he had also levelled serious allegations of rigging. After which the charge was withdrawn from Surendra Pratap Singh, who was looking after the charge of vice-chancellor of Patliputra University.

However, Prof. Surendra Pratap Singh is currently the Vice Chancellor of Lalit Narayan Mithila University while He is in charge of the Vice Chancellor of Aryabhatta Gyan University. Meanwhile, the Education Department issued a letter to all the Vice Chancellors. The Education Department has asked all vice chancellors to ensure transparency in other matters including tenders, purchase of copies, appointment of guards. The Education Department has written a letter to the Accountant General of Bihar asking them to conduct a performance audit of the universities in the state. The Education Department has categorically stated that the income and expenditure of universities has not been audited for the last several years, so the time has come for a performance audit to be conducted.

Sanjay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Education has written that in universities in Bihar, money is given by the government for electricity, telephone bills, holding tax, trains. Payments are made in outsourcing items for the safety and cleanliness of universities and for this also money is paid by the Department of Education. Similarly, asar and question seats are printed for the examination, so all these things should be investigated now.
