Nitish Kumar announces all cemeteries in Bihar to be cordoned off

Patna: Bihar CM and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar said on Monday that all the cemeteries in Bihar will be cordoned off. He has also said that under the Chief Minister's Area Development Scheme, MLAs and Legislative Councillors can also lay siege to the cemeteries, but that graveyard has to be included in the list of 8064.

The Chief Minister was replying to a question in the Assembly during the Monsoon session of the Legislature. He said, a total of 8064 cemeteries are being cordoned off by the state government for the cemetery siege. Even after that, if a cemetery escapes the siege, it will soon be cordoned off. He told the House that 75 per cent of the cemeteries have been cordoned off, while other cemeteries have been instructed by the authorities to expedite the siege.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also said that the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police have been entrusted with the responsibility to identify the cemeteries which are in dispute. At present, the opposition is attacking Nitish Kumar, the RJD and the Congress are targeting the Nitish government due to the deaths due to 'Chamki fever'.
