Hyderabad: The results of the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election have been announced. Here the Bharatiya Janata Party came in second place, but the party had left no stone unturned in campaigning. All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen has lost out on the BJP winning so many seats. Asaduddin Owausi's party has won 44 seats. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi recently said, 'The party will continue to fight the BJP in a democratic way.' He also flatly refused to consider it a BJP wave. He said, 'Where is the wave? Had the wave come, BJP would not have lost in the Maharashtra MLC election.'

Owaisi also said, 'BJP had said that they will do a surgical strike in the old city (Hyderabad). But there was nothing they could do in my area. We have had a democratic strike. We contested 51 seats and won 44 seats. Imagine what would have happened if AIMIM had contested 80 seats. The Owaisi party contested 60 seats and won 44 in 2016.

Owaisi also said, "We are confident that the people of Telangana will stop the BJP from moving ahead in the state." After the results, Owaisi said, "We have won 44 seats in the Hyderabad GHMC election. I talked to all the newly elected corporators and asked them to start their work from tomorrow itself." Now it has to be seen what is going to happen next.
