Before his death, Soumitra Chattopadhyay completed his portion of shooting for Rick Basu’s upcoming psychological thriller ‘Aboho’. Bengali actress Paoli Dam is going to play the lead role in this film. While keeping Soumitra's age in mind, the young filmmaker opted to shoot the veteran actor's portion of shot in sync sound. 

During an interview, Basu said, "We did Soumitra's portion of shooting in sync sound to avoid the problem while dubbing. As per his age cocern, he would dub only for an hour a day. Nobody can replace him or his voice so we took the opstion of sync sound to avoid problem."

Another tough challenge came in front of the filmmaker was Soumitra Chattopadhyay’s absence from the poster shoot of the film but Rick says they found a solution of it. He said, “We can manage it from the limited production stills though I have decided to use an illustration to keep him alive in my posters."
Talking about Soumitra Chattopadhyay, he was admitted to a private hospital on October 6 when he tested corona positive. The veteran actor later tested corona negative after a week but he was hospitalized due to his health complications. He passed away on November 15.
