With the festive season nearing, Tamil Nadu Government has announced to help safe transport for the Passengers as many as 9,510 buses will be operated from Chennai to various parts of the State between November 11 and 13. This helps easy and safe commutation for the passengers during the Deepavali time. The bus service will be provided only within the State and Puducherry. The inter-State bus services from Tamil Nadu to the neighbouring states Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra will remain suspended.

However, the Mofussil bus services of TNSTC, which are currently terminated at the State borders, will continue during festival. The inter-State travelers are guided to use train and flight. Due to the festival period, special trains and flights are being operated from Chennai to Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad and other important destinations. The Transport Department will open a 24-hour call centre (Call 9445014450 and 9445014436) for assistance and grievance redressal. 

Bengaluru to Puducherry buses to run from Oct 23

Transport Minister MR VIjayabhaskar said currently 2000 operations from Chennai to various parts of the state are operated and an additional 4,265 special buses will be introduced between November 11 and 13. Likewise, from November 15 and 18, 3,416 special buses will be operated to Chennai from various parts of the State. Outside Chennai, 4,610 special buses will also be operated to meet the commuter’s demand, said the Minister.  Tickets can be booked through www.tnstc.in, tnstc official app, www.redbus.in, www.paytm.com and www.busindia.com. The temporary bus stand are made like last year. Buses running to Ponneri, Gummidipundi and Oothukottai will run from Madhavaram bus terminus, and the buses to Puducherry, Cuddalore and  Chidambaram via ECR will start  from K K Nagar MTC bus stand.
