Amritsar: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday shot down a Pakistani drone carrying four kg of suspected banned substances on the International Border in Punjab's Ferozepur sector. A BSF spokesperson has informed that the soldiers heard the sound emanating from the drone while it was flying, after which the drone was traced at around 3 am. They used para bombs to shoot down the drone.
He said that a small green bag was also attached to the drone and included four packets tied with yellow foil and a small packet tied with black foil. The weight of the suspected banned substance was about 4.17 kg with packing and the weight of the packet bound in black foil was about 250 grams. The model of the drone was the DJI Matrix 300 RDX. It is noteworthy that earlier on March 5, Pakistani drone activity was seen on the Indo-Pak border in Pathankot.
According to the information, BSF personnel fired several rounds at the drone. Security forces told that the drone was trying to infiltrate into the Indian border. On this, firing was done from the side of BSF jawans. After which the drone went towards the Pakistan border. BSF personnel had informed the CO about this incident. A similar incident was reported from the state on February 9 as well. When the BSF foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs and weapons from a drone near the India-Pakistan border.
