No Trading: NSE, BSE to remain closed today due to Maha Shivratri

On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, the domestic equity markets (NSE and BSE) will be closed on Tuesday. According to the BSE website, there will be no trading today in the equity, equity derivatives, and SLB segments.

Commodity markets, on the other hand, will reopen in the evening after being closed for the morning session. On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, the exchanges (NSE and BSE) will begin trade.

In March, there will be two stock market holidays. Aside from today, the NSE and BSE will be closed for Holi on March 18, thus there will be no trading in the equity, currency, or futures markets. In April, the domestic equities markets will be closed trading in the equity, currency, and derivatives divisions for two days. On April 14, 2022 and April 15, 2022, these sectors will be closed for trading to commemorate Mahavir Jayanti / Dr.Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti and Good Friday, respectively.

Despite the fact that the Indian market is still closed for the aforementioned categories today, the Asian markets remained open for normal trading. The Asian markets got off to a bright start on Tuesday, with the Nikkei 225 index up 1.71 percent, the Hang Seng index at the Hong Kong Exchange trading modestly up by 0.15 percent, and the Chinese Shanghai Composite index up 0.55 percent during mornign session.
