New Delhi: A retired officer committed suicide by jumping from the 16th floor of Noida, adjoining the country's capital Delhi. The deceased has been identified as Vinod Shankar. After getting information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took the body of the deceased and sent it for postmortem. The incident is being reported from the Panchsheel Wellington Society at the Crossing Republic in Noida.  

According to the information, 65-year-old Vinod Shankar retired as an officer in MTNL. After retiring, he lived with his children and other family members in a flat in Panchsheel Wellington Society. Vinod Shankar committed suicide by jumping off the 16th floor of a building in Panchsheel Wellington Society. It is said that late at night, the guard heard a loud sound of something falling on the ground. Hearing the loud noise, the guards rushed to the spot. When the guards reached the spot, Vinod Shankar was lying on the ground in a pool of blood.

The guards immediately informed the police about the incident. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the body in its possession and sent it for postmortem. Vinod Shankar retired as senior supervisor in MTNL. Vinod Shankar's son Vikrant has told the police that he was upset due to a lack of sleep over the last one month.
