Noida Police arrest 22 suspected criminals in joint operation in Ghaziabad

Noida Police detained 22 absconding criminals during a joint operation with Ghaziabad and Delhi Police. Called as Operation Prahar 2, the special drive was taken out to identify the accused who had been released from jail in the recent past and were indulging in criminal activities. The arrests were made after a series of raids were conducted in Khora area.

Ranvijay Singh, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Gautam Buddh Nagar said in a statement that reads; “the operation was conducted on Sunday with the aim of verifying bailed out criminals."About 140 police personnel participated in the operation which was led by 3 officials. In recent days, it was seen that criminals were residing in Khora colony and adjoining areas. The operation lasted for about 3 hours. It was carried out in the homes of about 20 suspected criminals who had been accused of robbery, in which 22 suspects were detained."

It is further quoted by a senior official:- “Most of the accused have cases of loot, robbery, fraud among others pending against them. One accused has more than 65 FIRs filed against him. Police officials will continue to share information of active criminals across jurisdictions to ensure they are apprehended in time”.
