Seoul: In the midst of the corona epidemic, the same mantra is going on these days- 'Be safe, be healthy'. But something different is being done in North Korea to stay healthy. We all know vegetables, but have you heard the name of 'functional vegetables'? This word is a bit strange. But keeping in mind the health of the people in North Korea, special types of vegetables are being produced, which are being called functional vegetables.

In fact, a North Korean institution is reportedly producing a variety of vegetables for the purpose of improving people's diet and health. In connection with these vegetables, a video of North Korea's official news agency KCNA has been told. The video shows how the people working at the Pyongyang Institute of Botany are caring for plants like peppers and tomatoes.

Im Byong Soap, a researcher at the Institute of Botany of Pyongyang, said - 'The recently produced Gynura bicolor (a variety of spinach) has 20 to 30 times the amount of iron compared to outside grown vegetables. It is a very good vegetable for people with anemia deficiency and women who have recently become mothers. We will continue our research to produce more varieties of vegetables and will contribute in improving the health of the people.
