New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has sent eviction notices to canteen and Dhaba owners located in the college campus. According to a JNU statement, Dhaba owners who have not paid the bills since they started the business have been sent notices. According to a statement issued by JNU on Sunday, these owners have not responded to the notices issued since 2019, asking them to pay the dues.

JNU campus development committee chief Sudhir Kumar has said that notices have been issued to all those who are occupying different places, including educational buildings, in JNU. They are doing business without any fixed allotment and at the same time want to continue the business without paying any licence fee and other dues like electricity.

Let us know that the decision was taken in the CDC meeting on January 17 to send eviction notices to Dhaba and canteen owners. On Sunday, PTI reported that the JNU administration has served a notice to the operators of several canteens and Dhabas located on the campus on June 22 to clear dues up to lakhs of rupees and vacate the university campus by June 30.
