Admission in technical universities and engineering colleges of the state can also be done through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The new system is set to be implemented from the year 2021. The state government is going to end the system of admission to these institutions under university level examination. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given in-principle approval to the new admission system. With this, students of the state can get freedom from preparing for different examinations in engineering institutes.

Apart from this, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) conducts state level entrance examination in the state right now. On the basis of merit of the same examination, students are admitted in all technical universities and engineering colleges of the state. Currently some private universities conduct separate entrance exams. In such a situation, students have to prepare according to the university or institution in which they have to enroll. At the same time, students have to prepare completely differently for admission in engineering colleges of the national level. In this, the students have a lot of difficulty and the parents also have to bear the double economic expenditure for the preparation of the children.

Chances of admission to national institutions will increase
The Department of Technical Education has prepared a proposal for a new system of admission citing the interests of students and parents. Apart from this, admission in all the major technology institutes of the country like IIT, NIT, IIIT, GFTI etc. is through JEE. . The responsibility of conducting JEE is with the National Testing Agency (NTA). If the institutes of the state will also be admitted through JEE, then students may not need to prepare separately for admission in state level institutions. With this, the students of the state will also get increased opportunities for admission in national level institutions, as they will not have to waste their time in preparing for two separate exams.
