New Delhi: Faced with negative feedback over pricing following the launch of its much-anticipated LYF brand 4G smartphones by Reliance, the company has now decided to mark down the price for some of the new devices.

Reports by TechRadar suggest that a total of six phones are going to receive a price cut as big as 25 per cent off the launch price.

LYF brand smartphones had secured the 5th spot in the shipment rankings for the Q1. However, customers were not happy with the pricing despite the bundled data plan with the devices prompting the company to give an official price cut.

All Lyf-branded smartphones are available with free unlimited data and voice-calling offers for three months on the Reliance Jio network.

Interested consumers can effectively get a new 4G phone and unlimited 4G data and voice-calling for 3 months at just Rs. 2,999.

Reliance has not yet officially launched the Jio's 4G service but the company has been offering its services to consumers under an employee referral program.

Also recently Reliance CDMA customers were offered chance to upgrade to a Reliance Jio SIM with a lot of bundled features.

The company has also launched a suite of 8 applications. The 8 apps include JioPlay and JioOnDemand for video content, JioBeats for music, JioNews, JioMags and JioXpressNews for reading and news, JioSecurity for safety, and JioDrive for storage.
