Property to be seized now if caught cheating in exams, govt's big step

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has now decided to take major steps to curb cheating and fraud in competitive examinations. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that if anyone is found cheating in the examinations, their property will be seized. He said that the government will strictly deal with those who indulge in malpractices in the recruitment examinations. 

The CM also said that the candidates who are found using unfair means in the examination will be debarred from appearing in any competitive examination in the state for the next 10 years. He said, 'The entire property of those found cheating in the examination will be seized. Along with this, we are also making a provision that those who cheat while giving exams will not be able to appear in any exam for the next 10 years.'

Uttarakhand's subordinate service recruitment paper was leaked in December 2022, after which the STF investigated the matter. It was found in the investigation that papers of many other examinations including Lekhpal-Patwari were sold. The state government is now adopting strictness regarding cheating in the recruitment examinations, due to which this decision has been taken. Let us tell you that the Bihar Public Service Commission has also announced a ban of up to 5 years on those caught cheating in recruitment examinations. The upcoming examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission is going to be held on February 12, for which strict instructions have been issued.
