After the rains, the breeding of mosquitoes increases. Along with this, mosquito-borne diseases start growing. To detect malaria, two researchers from an institution in Kolkata have launched a new portable device, which will be detecting in no time whether the patient has malaria or not.

A team of researchers from the Engineering and Management Institute in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology has claimed that it has developed a mobile and low-cost mechanism that can detect dengue along with malaria as well as malaria.

How it works:

IIEST, Head of Shibpur Department - IT, Dr. Arindam Biswas said that we have added a mobile phone camera on a paper microscope which can be used to take a blood sample, and to detect the presence of data of malaria cell, it can be processed on a central server. The result is sent to the remote client, who can access the data doctor registered in the system's database and write the treatment accordingly.

According to Arindam Biswas, each patient will have to spend only 10 rupees on this test. A drop of blood from the tip of his finger will be taken in the examination and through a remote test facility, he will be provided a hard copy of the report in a few seconds.
