New Delhi: The Congress' woes in the high-profile National Herald case are not being less. On Thursday, veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge appeared before the ED officials at the Herald House itself. With this, the investigating agency has again started raiding the office of Young Indian (YIL), the holding company of the Congress-owned newspaper National Herald.

The leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha, 80-year-old Kharge, reached the Herald Bhawan near the ITO at around 12.40 pm near Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and met the investigating agency officials. Being the company's principal officer, the ED had sought his presence during the raid on the young Indian's office. Let us know that the shareholders of Young Indian also include the names of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Rahul-Sonia holds a 38-38 per cent stake in the company.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had sealed a portion of the four-storey Herald House on Wednesday. The ED had cited the preservation of evidence as the reason behind the sealing. The ED said they were unable to search as the part was locked, with no senior representative present during the search. ED officials said that the searches at the Young India office will now be put on hold and whatever possible evidence is found, will be gathered.
