Nepal expresses objection on new map of India, previously Pakistan expressed objection

New Delhi: Nepal has expressed opposition to the new political map of the country released by the Government of India. In the official statement issued by Nepal, an objection has been expressed about the inclusion of Kalapani in the Indian territory in the new map of India. Discussion is going on between New Delhi and Kathmandu on the border dispute.

Nepal's Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Wednesday, described Kalapani as an integral part of Nepal and said that the Nepal government is completely clear that Kalapani is a part of Nepal. In a press statement issued by the Foreign Ministry of Nepal, it has been said that the Common Committee of Nepal-India Foreign Ministers level has given the Foreign Secretary of both countries the responsibility to resolve the unresolved border dispute. Nepal said in its statement that the border dispute between the two countries should be resolved with bilateral dialogue and consent and any unilateral action of any kind is not acceptable to the Government of Nepal.

India on Saturday released a new map of India after the formation of two new union territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Nepal has been expressing its objection to the inclusion of Kalapani in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. Nepal shows Kalapani as part of the Darchula district in its map.
