Mumbai: Congress leader Sheikh Hussain, who made objectionable remarks on PM Narendra Modi, has categorically refused to apologize. He said that I have not said anything wrong. So the question of apologizing does not arise. In his defence, Sheikh Hussain himself came forward on Wednesday and gave an explanation. Sheikh Hussain said that he gave the speech because of the Congress movement. Because of this, whatever he said was said in the interest of the party. I spoke whatever the party had to say. Now whatever the party says in the future, I will do that. Sheikh Hussein now added his remark to the idiom and said that 'death like a dog' is an idiom. He further said that what I had said in the speech was not against the PM, but as an idiom.

It is worth noting that after the controversial statement of Sheikh Hussain, BJP had lodged a case against Sheikh Hussain at Gittikhadan police station in Nagpur on Tuesday night. Nagpur Police has registered an FIR under sections 294 and 504. However, the police have not yet called for the arrest or interrogation of Sheikh Hussain.

Who is Sheikh Hussain?

Sheikh Hussain is a senior leader of Nagpur Congress. He was the President of Nagpur City Congress from 2002 to 2007. Thereafter, he also held the post of State General Secretary. For some years he was also the President of the Dargah of the famous Sufi saint Tajuddin Baba of Nagpur.
