Patna: The new Omicron variant of Corona has now knocked in Bihar as well. A 26-year-old youth has been found infected with Omicron in Patna. The person had recently returned from Delhi. According to officials, in Delhi, the man had gone to meet his relative who had returned from abroad. State Health Society executive director Sanjay Kumar Singh has informed about the first case of Omicron in Bihar. The infected person is a resident of the Kidwaipuri area of Patna.

Also, he told that the person had gone to Delhi last week to meet his relative. His corona report came positive the very next day after returning to Patna. The relative whom the person had gone to meet was found infected with Omicron. After which the sample of this person was also sent for genome sequencing, in which the Omicron variant has been confirmed in the person.

Sanjay Singh told that the infected person is in home isolation only after returning from Patna. Kidwaipuri has been made a containment zone after he was found infected with Omicron. In the same Bihar, on Thursday, the number of new cases of corona infection crossed 100 after months. According to the Health Department, 132 new cases of the corona were reported in Bihar on the last day. It was a matter of relief that not a single patient died in 24 hours. Active cases have also increased due to the spurt in corona cases. Till a month ago, the active cases in the state were 35, which have now increased 10 times to 333.
