Jodhpur: Lawyers in Rajasthan will no longer have to address a High Court judge during court proceedings by speaking 'Mai Lord' and 'Lordship'. The decision was taken by the full bench of rajasthan high court justices on Monday. According to the information received, lawyers have been exempted from addressing judges in the Rajasthan High Court as 'My Lord' and 'Lordship' after the judgement.

After the High Court judgement, the words 'My Lord' and 'UR Lordship' will distance lawyers. In this context, the High Court Administration in an order issued on Monday directed lawyers not to address judges with words like Mai Lord, Lordship. The Registrar General of the court is reported to have issued a notice on Monday.

The first meeting of the plenbench held during the tenure of Chief Justice S Ravindra Bhatt was held on Sunday. The Jodhpur bench justices had participated in the meeting. In the meantime, it has been stipulated that justices should not be addressed as My Lords, keeping in view the rights of equality enshrined in the Constitution. The High Court has also issued notice on the order.
