The company owned by Meta announced that users of WhatsApp will now be able to edit their sent messages within a 15-minute time frame in a blog post. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, posted an announcement about the feature's debut on Facebook.

In recent weeks, WhatsApp has added a number of helpful features for its users. It should be noted that one of the most eagerly awaited and requested features by WhatsApp users has been the newest message editing feature. It not only enables users to fix mistakes or add more information to a message, but it also gives them more control over their chats.

Although the new function will let users edit sent messages, WhatsApp warned that such texts will have the "edited" tag next to them. The edit history, however, would not be visible to either the sender or the recipient. The business added that, like regular messages, media, and calls on the messaging platform, edited messages are also secured by end-to-end encryption.
