The National People's Party (NPP) has filed a complaint against the BJP for the assault on Sanjoy Singh, the father of the party's candidate in the Andro seat. Unidentified miscreants allegedly shot and injured the father of NPP candidate L Sanjoy Singh from Manipur's Andro seat on February 18.

In fact, at least six other people were injured, and six houses and five cars were heavily damaged as a result of the violence. According to the NPP's complaint, NPP candidate Sanjoy Singh's father was shot near his home in the constituency. Meanwhile, Manipur's chief minister, N Biren Singh, has said that an investigation into the pre-election violence in Andro is underway.

The Manipur chief minister, on the other hand, has denied that any BJP member or leader was involved in the attack on the NPP candidate's father. MLAs from the opposition parties, according to Biren Singh, are 'misusing' security personnel supplied to them.

Conrad Sangma, the chief minister of Meghalaya and the national president of the National People's Party (NPP), has condemned the incident on the father of a party's candidate in the upcoming Manipur Assembly elections as "politically motivated." The electoral commission has responded 'positively' to the NPP's security concerns over its candidates in Manipur, according to Conrad Sangma.

"Miscreants have attacked many NPP candidates and their family ahead of the Assembly elections in Manipur," Conrad Sangma said. "I informed the chief electoral officer of Manipur about the attack on our candidate's father and a series of incidences that occurred around Manipur, causing great worry for the safety of our candidates and the public at large," Conrad Sangma said. "Rival candidates from various political parties are driving the attacks against NPP candidates," he added.
