Lucknow: After the last list of NRC in Assam in the past, the issue of NRC was heated up all over the country. Many BJP-ruled states have talked about implementing NRC on their own too. Home Minister Shah himself has spoken of implementing NRC across the country. Now, the largest state in terms of population in the country UP has started preparing to implement it here. Police captains of all districts, IG, DIG range and ADG zone will be sent a letter instructing them to start working on it.

According to sources, the draft prepared by the DGP Headquarters for NRC will identify new settlements in and around the railway station, bus stand, roadside at the outskirts of all districts where Bangladeshi and other foreign nationals are illegally taking refuge. Video recording of this verification work will be done with caution. In the investigation, if the person concerned reveals his address in other states, districts, then it will be verified in a timely manner.

The police will also find out what fake records and facilities have been taken by foreign nationals to regulate their stay. It can have a ration card, voter card, driving license, arms license, passport and Aadhaar card. On completion of the investigation of these fake records and facilities, action will be taken to revoke them and action will be taken against the middlemen and departmental employees who provide these facilities. Illegal foreigners will be identified and sent back to their country.
