For the last few months, however, he started suspecting her. A few days ago, he came to the city. On Wednesday, he went to the victim’s room. He sprayed a mosquito repellent on himself, threatened to harm her family and raped her. He also filmed the act, Panjagutta police said. He used to visit her room in Begumpet after her friends left for work and raped her. On Friday, he again raped her threatening to harm her family and filmed the act. He also threatened to upload pictures on social media if she disclosed the matter to anyone.

On Thursday and Friday too, the accused, who went job hunting to the US in 2016 and settled in Sunnyvale, California, took her to a hotel at Banjara Hills, threatened to upload their intimate picture on the Internet and sexually abused her. Fed up with the harassment, the woman lodged a complaint with the police and took him into custody. The police said that Ravi had gone to the US to pursue his education and is working as an Uber cab driver in California since 2016.
