'Cyber crimes increased by 500% in the country' claims NSA Ajit Doval

New Delhi: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval has said that dependence on digital payments has increased in the crisis of the Corona epidemic. Cases of online economic frauds have also increased. He has asked people to be cautious in online transactions. Doval was addressing the Data Privacy and Hacking Conference on behalf of kerala police and society for the Policing of Cyberspace and Information Security Research Association through video conferencing.

In the meantime, NSA Doval also discussed the government's plans to deal with it. According to media reports, NSA Doval said the government is bringing the National Cyber Security Strategy 2020 to deal with it. It aims to provide secure, reliable and resilient cyberspace. He also attributed the lack of awareness and cyber hygiene to the 500 per cent increase in cyber crime.

NSA Doval said that cash handling has declined and people are using digital platforms more. Social media meddling has also increased. He said that online data is being shared and messages are being sent to each other. Criminals are also looking for new opportunities.
