New Delhi: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval is scheduled to hold an inter-religious meeting today i.e. Saturday (July 30) as part of the Narendra Modi government's outreach to maintain inter-faith harmony. The inter-religious conference will be attended by religious leaders of different religions. Sufi saints will also participate in the conference, during which the resolution of peace, unity and harmony will be passed. All India Sufi Sajjada Nasheen Parishad chief Hazrat Syed Naseeruddin Chishti will also attend the conference. The inter-religious conference is an initiative to de-escalate religious tensions in the wake of the controversy over former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma's remarks and the extreme reaction of a section of Barelvi Muslims.

Let us know that the country has witnessed violence and heinous killings after the Nupur Sharma controversy, which includes the beheading of a Hindu tailor Kanhaiyalal by two Muslim youths in Udaipur. These fanatics made a video of the entire case and also threatened PM Narendra Modi. NIA is looking at the case by linking it to the pattern of killings committed by the terror group ISIS. A similar hate killing took place in Amravati in Maharashtra, where a pharmacist named Umesh Kolhe was killed by Muslims. The case is also being investigated by the NIA.

Let me tell you that this is not the first time that Doval is holding inter-religious meetings with religious leaders. Earlier in 2019, NSA Ajit Doval had met religious leaders after the Supreme Court's verdict on the Ayodhya dispute. The meeting was held at Doval's residence the very next day of the Supreme Court's verdict. The meeting was attended by Hindu leaders Swami Parmeshwarnand, Avdheshanand Giri, Baba Ramdev, Chidanand Saraswati and Muslim cleric Jamaat-e-Ulema-Hind president Mahmood Madani and Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawad.
